Personalised ipod~ how does one change its backgrounds?
my friend's ipod nano (3rd gen) is personalised with her own backgrounds and themes. I really want to do this on my ipod but how does this work? does it involve hacking or do you need to download a special program? I've heard of iPodWizard.net but it doesn't want to work on my computer.
I'm not that interested in changing complicated themes etc, i'd just like to replace the white menu backgrounds with something a bit less plain =)Personalised ipod~ how does one change its backgrounds?

Vista 4GB down to 3GB problem?
Last night vista crashed on me, due to me trying to change themes using 'vista glazz' (which i wont use again) i installed vista again from scratch last night, but when i open up 'My Computer' (Windows + E) it says i only have 2.93GB RAM. i opened up my computer to check if the cards are damaged. I found that none were damaged but i was told that i have to change the RAM settings in 'BIOS' but i dont know how to my motherboard is 'ASUS PB5' PCI-E x16.
Could anyone give me instructions or help/ advice?
Thanks :DVista 4GB down to 3GB problem?
Vista 32bit or 64bit ? The Facts and Only The Facts:
If a PC is installed with 4GB of system memory, the computer itself will register 4GB but Windows Vista/XP will not be able to recognize it all. It's nothing to fret over, this is a normal limitation with 32 bit operating systems. The operating system will report 3.5GB or so, but the ';missing memory'; (varies between 500MB-750MB) is there, reserved for hardware devices.
In Microsoft Windows Vista it is called SuperFetch, and it reserves about 33-50% of system memory for this purpose. Essentially Windows Vista looks at how the computer user accesses application and data, and keeps the most often used applications and tasks loaded into cache memory. This makes loading applications quicker and is supposed to offer users a smoother ride. It does not take system memory away from the OS or applications, if memory demand his high SuperFetch will automatically adjust its size.

Please remove all RAM and individualy test each stick in your computer.
Put in one reboot see if it is reconised.Remove then test another. Please make sure you power off the computer before removing your RAM.
Power off computer and open her up either remove BIOS battery for two minutes or use the BIOS reset jumper(4 pins with plastic jumper on two of them)place jumper on other two pins for 2 minutes then replace on origonal ones.
Or enter BIOS and load fail safe and defaults.
On your post screen does it show full RAM?In BIOS does it show all RAM?
Do you get any beep codes on startup?
What is the setup for your RAM in BIOS?
The issue is nothing to do with partitions.
My understanding is that the 32 bit version of XP or Vista will only see 3gb (or in some cases 3.5gb) of ram. So my question to you would be, is it this the 32 bit version? Did you check how much ram was showing before you re-installed? Was the previous version of Vista 32bit or 64bit? Not sure this actually helps you, but it might explain the discrepancy.
Did you delete the first partition,If you did not it will create another and make your capacity smaller

psp-themes.net website is the best website for you theme customization.
if your asking on changing your bootscreen and battery bars, better not... there is a high risk doing it even if you read and follow the guides on how to, and might end up your psp bricked.

How do I change my myspace profile back to classic view?
I went online today

I went to the page themes to change it but Classic View isn't an option!
Once again myspace has done this! Last time they put it back but will they again? :(How do I change my myspace profile back to classic view?
Last time they said it was unchangeable, after a few days (probably due to tons of negative feedback) they suddenly had a SWITCH TO CLASSIC VIEW option, after saying they would not, eventually this option will probably not be offered and we will just have to get used to the new version, I think its totally unfair to the older myspace users, but what can we do about it, that's life. How do I change my myspace profile back to classic view?

How to reflash my mobile phone to the original generic firmware on Sony Ericsson w350i? Hi, I want to have a?
Hi, I want to have a go at reflashing my mobile because it has preinstalled themes from the operator and I want to reset it to its original settings. I have tried master resetting and it's done nothing. I have downloaded xs++ and flash drivers but I have no idea what to actually do with it. Can anyone please advise me with links and URLS please for a step by step guide or files I may need. The mobile has Orange network theme which overrights all the fancy flashy moving menu with it's crappy still old school interface with WONT budge even if you change themes. It's most annoying because I know this phone is capable of more than its offering at the moment.
Any advice please most grateful. S xxHow to reflash my mobile phone to the original generic firmware on Sony Ericsson w350i? Hi, I want to have a?
So you did go to se-nse.net or did you download it from someplace else?
There are lots of guides on se-nse.net
You need to download a firmware for the w350i.
The procedure is to start XS++, then remove the battery from the phone then reinsert but don't turn on, then press on connect on XS++ then wait, then it will tell you to hold the ';C'; button and connect the USB cord then you will enter the flash mode on the cell phone and the XS++ program.
Thats all I can remember off my head.
This is where to get the firmware: http://www.seusers.com/forum/local_links
Need to sign up, download for the region you are in like americas or europe.
This is a flashing guide: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showt
Make sure you have latest XS++ here: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showt

Trouble with the structure of my short story?
I have to write a short story for my class. I have ideas, but I can't seem to organize them. My plot is not really traditional, but I think it will work. My concern is that the story might be a little boring. I would appreciate constructive criticism and advice. Any advice is appreciated - I don't need a lengthy reply, or a response to each of my questions. I will pick a best answer. Thank you in advance!
The character is driving home (alone) when the story starts. I want to establish the situation: the character was on a trip with her friend, they went to a few cities, and now she is driving home.
I want to tell about the places she has seen and the people she has met, but I don't know how I should introduce these into the story, because they are all flashbacks.
My character is conflicted between her love for life on the road and her desire to be home. Is this enough conflict? And since the character is on her way home - therefore driving towards home with the intention of being home, etc. - is this enough for a motivation?
The climax does not happen until the last paragraph - I don't want to write any after that because I want my story to be open-ended. However, because I want to end the story with the climax, I am planning on having the character's conclusions about the trip, people she has met, and traveling in general - throughout the latter half of the story, so this may act somewhat as a resolution/final word on the journey.
I want the theme to be something along the lines of how people - despite differences - are similar everywhere, and while traveling is broadening, it also makes you realize how we're so small in a world that's so big - despite how much we think we know of the world, we know so little of it.
My one problem with this theme is that the trip is supposed to be in the USA - where the character is from. The USA is the only place I have a good grasp on, and I feel like writing about a destination that would be more ';exotic'; to my character - Asia or South America, for instance - would be a bad decision for me, because I don't know enough to write a realistic account of such places. I guess my question is this: what is your opinion about this situation? Should I change themes?
Thank you!Trouble with the structure of my short story?
You may be better off planning the journey - all the stops required for fuel and rest will punctuate the story - also landmarks and people, occurrences, all en route, can feed an element of local history into the flashbacks - how the character is reminded and so how the journey is made more pertinent because of the A, the B and what is between the two points to make it as much a part of the story....
You can use a genuine route plan and weave your story in, or use those locations you know and barely mention the connecting highways %26amp; by-ways, except to say they are based on an actually mapped route.
All the characters have to do when there's so little to say is take in the sights, turn on the radio, doze off during shifts at the wheel etc.
Some of it is bound to seem like it's writing itself, just as other parts could seem like a chapter in the making and be something around a sentence to a paragraph long in the preferred definitive...
To gently put the needle on the record - the first flashback could be taking place during a moment in a diner - a pleasing sensation of motionlessness, fullness after eating and tiredness as simply attended as walking 50 yards and letting herself into a motel room, gives rise to the first - so there's no danger, just a waitress with more coffee to snap her out of it.
Another flashback can take place at the traffic lights - so not setting off because of the reverie could cause drivers behind to sound their horns...
Another flashback absorbing the character causes a near miss - here a decision is made while still elevated into life preserving mode.
A final flashback suggests closure, the right path taken, with a twist - it's the best possible outcome, but it absolutely required all the flashbacks, specifically causing a run in with the maker and the geographical knowledge you have of the area.Trouble with the structure of my short story?
Thank you for choosing my answer :) I am pleased to receive a high rating too.

The plot itself actually doesn't sound that bad, if you can mix in interesting stories that relate to your theme. The theme is okay, if you can work well with it, don't change it. And also, unless you're willing to devote a TON of time towards researching, don't write about exotic places.
As for introducing the stories, I think you should have the main character tell them to her friend, as to pass the time.
The part you should improve most upon is the character's motivation and the conflict: why do they prefer life on the road rather than going home? What are the benefits of traveling rather than going home and vice versa? Is it because she has troubles at home, or because she just loves exploring the world and doesn't want to be confined to her home?
Anyhow, once you get the motivation settled out, I think your story should be pretty good. Good luck on your writing!

I also managed to install the antlantis fish plugin for compiz fusion.
However I now want to use ';emerald'; to be able to easily change themes. I have managed to install emerald, but when i select the theme I want, nothing happens. I read some fourms that says you have to change what windows decorator you want, or something like that, but I dont understand. Can someone please help me?I want to make my ubuntu desktop look nice?

actually, you have to right click on the desktop .then you will find a white thing appear. go down and click on properties. then go to the top and click on desktop. there wil be a scroll bar and a display window. With Windows XP how doyou change the Desktop screen?
I've had this issue myself. I found a pic in My Pictures folder, then I right clicked the pic, set it as 'set as desktop background' , then who-hoo! you have a desktop background.
Right click somewhere on your desktop screen, not on an icon. A menu should pop up, and then click on properties. Another menu will show, and the go to the tab that says something like ';Desktop'; or ';Background';. Then select a new picture or color. :]
If that doesn't work go into ';My Pictures';, right click and say ';put as desktop backround'; If it doesn't change try logging out and back in. It should be changed.

To change your theme:
right-click on desktop%26gt;properties%26gt;appearance
To change the sound:
control panel%26gt;sounds and audio devices%26gt;sounds
To change mouse cursor:
control panel%26gt;mouse%26gt;pointers
To change desktop photo:
right-click on desktop%26gt;properties%26gt;desktop%26gt;browse (find picture there)
Right click with your mouse, and choose options then determine the size and width. I recommend higher than 800*600.
i think just press on your desktop screen right click then go to properties then go to desktop...then change it into whatever...hope i didnt confuse you...
well i have vista so im completely doing this from the top of my head.
right click your desktop, and it should say desktop along the top? or something along the lines of wallpaper, then below should say browse or you can pick a picture alredi there..
if this aint right, sorry.
Right click on your desktop and select settings. Here there should be a tab that allows you to change the desktop background. I dont remember exactly as i havent used XP in a while but i am certain you can find it there.

Those guys dont wanna help because they hate Vista. In fact I agree Vista sucks.
Anyway I shall help you.
Extract the themes to %windir%\Resources\Themes
You can get to that location through the RUN Dialog (Windows Key + R)
Then after extracting, enter your themes folder and click on your theme follder name.
Go inside the folder and you should see a .msstyles file.
If it's there, it's correct.
Also ensure the themes you download are compatable.
After that go to Personalization -%26gt; Windows Color and appearance--%26gt;Open classic appearance pro.... to get your theme out.
The name of the theme is Windows Aero or Vista Basic as you cant give it a name.
Simplest way is to get Tuneup Utilities 2009 and use the TuneUp StylerNeed help with Vista?
well the problem is you're using vista.
you should fix that.
VIISTA!!! Hahaha just throw it away....
ok so right click 7 zip and open as admin, then extract and try that,
if that dont work, email me at kevinwjklimeck@comcast.net
extract your files to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes, you should then see them in the drop down list.

I wanted to change the theme for my computer (i.e. the dock, that brushed silver app bar, etc, etc) but Shapeshift has expired, and I don't feel like buying it. Anyways, I know that you can go and manually change icons for like folders/apps, but is there something like that for the rest of the stuff? If so, how do I get to it?How can I change the theme of my Mac? (Without shapeshift)?

Need assistance with creating my theme?
Hi, I have uploaded a .jpg for my theme of just under the alloted 250k.
I understand that I can then make other choices for this ';Single background'; [rather than 'top %26amp; bottom' image] in that I can choose ';tiled'; or ';postioned';... but when I follow the instructions of
';';My Page, click ';Change Theme.'; Then click ';Customize your theme';'; ...
The only option available is to import the picture...which I already did.
NO other options seem to be available like font color, boarder, etc... as it indicates on the 'help' page.
are there any other/better instructions on how to get to the options?

When you get to the customize your theme pop up window, you have to scroll down (in that window) past the image uploading section. There you will see options to change the font, color and etc.
As far as colors go, I copy and paste color codes from this site - http://www.december.com/html/spec/color. . It's just faster that way. You can also type the word - transparent - instead of a color code, so that your background shows through. OR you can just click on the little box next to the right of the item, move the color scroll bar up and down, then click around in the color square with your mouse. You can also check the transparent option there.Need assistance with creating my theme?
hummm.. you have got a yahooa-bugabooa.. maybe.. lol
when you click onto the edit custom theme from the theme page it only gives you the one option you can customize on the little popup that pops up?
Go to your... MY PAGE
if you have customized your page in any way.. it should have a link there at the top over on the left hand side that is a big question mark.. beside it, should be the option to custom change my theme and below that one. is the option Edit Custome theme..
choose Edit Custom Theme
a popup window should open on the left side of the page and it is not all that large in size.. about 5 inches by 6 inches in size ..
you should see the options to browse and choose all the different types of postions for your background images there and then use the scroll bar at the popup side to scroll down further into the popup to choose the other things.. like font, page colors.. etc.
here is the url that comes up on my browsers address bar when i click to customize my theme.. see if it works for you too..
if it doesn't my 360 address is in my profile.. come see me and leave me a comment that you need more help and I will try my best to get you into the fun part of 360!
good luck for sure!

Nokia 6121 classic?
hmm.. do any of you guys know how to change themes for this unit?? ( nokia 6121 classic ) i really need you help.. thanks!Nokia 6121 classic?
I really loved my Nokia phone but it died in 1 year. The people at the phone store said ';That happens all the time';. It was out of warranty so i just bought another phone.
Are you saying that your phone is a classic because it is old. If so, don't do anything that costs money because it probably won't last much longer.
Anyway, the owners manual for the Nokia has a section on changing the themes. I don't have the manual any more. You can scroll thru every item on the Nokia menu and find it yourself if you lost the manual.. Click on every single menu item. It's in there.
What phone are you going to get next?
